loved the spacious and clean room, felt more like a motel. bathrooms were well maintained and kitchen was tidy. plenty of places to relax. perfect location!

Value for money was exceptional and the room was cozy and excellent, with a comfy bed and great amenities like Netflix and Amazon Prime. The location of the hotel was perfect, just on the outskirts of the center with everything in walking distance. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

For breakfast, it would have been nice to have some utensils and plates available in the room, so we could have easily prepared simple meals without having to use the kitchen area.

I had a great stay at this clean, quiet and tidy lodge. The backyard was a fantastic place to relax, and the common rooms were spacious. It was conveniently located near Hamner Springs and nearby walks. The room had everything I needed and was presented well. The staff were friendly and the lodge had a cozy atmosphere with a lovely fire burning at all times. a perfect place for a solo traveler like myself.

The hostel is well-managed and caters to budget-conscious travelers of all ages. The kitchen and dining room are fully equipped, and we enjoyed the convenience of the book swap facility. The proximity to the hot pools was a bonus, and we loved being able to walk there easily. The cleanliness of the rooms and the comfortable beds were also highlights. we had a fantastic time at Kakapo Lodge and would highly recommend it.

loved my short stay at hanmer springs, and kakapo lodge was even better than expected! incredibly clean, friendly staff, spacious rooms, and a guitar for guests to play. perfect location too - just a short stroll to the attractions. will definitely be coming back here if i visit hanmer again!

I recently stayed at a lodge in Hanmer Springs and had a great experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with spacious beds and plenty of power sockets. The lounge area with couches and a fireplace was a cozy spot to relax, and there were even board games available for entertainment. The location was very convenient, just a short walk away from the thermal pools, shops, restaurants, and bus stop. The staff were lovely and friendly, offering helpful advice and even upgrading my room when a cancellation occurred. I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this lodge for both short and longer durations.

I gotta say, for the price we paid, Kakapo Lodge was a steal! Our room was cozy, clean. The staff, who happen to be a lovely family, were the friendliest and kindest folks we've come across. They even had cheap bike rentals and a thermal pool voucher for us!

The breakfast offerings could've been improved, maybe more variety or a few extra options would've been nice. But overall, it definitely didn't ruin our fabulous stay at this cozy lodge.

We loved the central location, close to thermal pools and restaurants. The reception staff were friendly and the place was extremely clean. The bed was really comfortable, providing us with a great night's rest after a long day of traveling.

The lodge was spotlessly clean, with a great location just minutes away from the hot pools. Despite being a backpackers accommodation, it was surprisingly quiet. There were multiple areas to relax in privacy, and two spacious lounges for socializing. The room was tidy and the kitchen well-equipped. a comfortable and sociable stay.

A great budget lodge for our one-night stopover on our journey from Christchurch to the north. Friendly welcome, clean and warm double room with ensuite shower. The portable heater made it cosy. Loved the small kitchenette and the wood burning stove in the reception area. Great central location and clean facilities. The Kiwiana tin artwork along the hallway was a unique touch.
